Great Tips on Getting Ready for Work Fast!

Does Time seem to get away from you while getting ready in the Mornings?  I know it does for me, at my age it takes a long time to look this good.  Just joking!!!!
(Comments from RedhotIam)

Here are 3 timesavers you can try:

Save 20 Minutes
(This is a must try, I will update once I have)
DRY HAIR FASTER: Ask anyone—the biggest beauty time-waster is drying your hair. So skip shampooing (or do it the night before) and try this shortcut: First, dampen face-framing strands with a spray bottle of water. Then spritz them and your crown with a styler containing tea tree oil. It erases any not-so-fresh smells and softens hair, making styling a breeze, says Laura Boton, a salon owner in Chicago. Blow-dry the front pieces, blast some air at your crown, and hit the road!
Tea tree oil in Bb Tonic Lotion, $20, eases styling; lemongrass extract builds volume.

Must shampoo? Blow-dry roots first. They trap the most water.

(Another must try, I will let ya know what I think)
STEP UP YOUR SKIN CARE: Meet your new morning must-have: a face wash that also exfoliates. It gives you a glow without the need for a separate scrub and toner, says Tony Nakhla, M.D., a dermatologist in Newport Coast, California. Next, apply a tinted lotion that has antioxidants. You'll hydrate and treat skin, nixing the need for makeup. It's two steps instead of six!

All Natural Beauty Treatments

I am now officially addicted to Apple Cyder Vineagar, I have started using it on my face to do away with all the oil my skin seems to think I need for some reason.  I have also started adding it and honey to cut down on the vinegar taste to one bottle of water a day, to also assist in ridding my face of unwanted oil.

I did some research on the company Bragg Live Foods, they are the maker of the most popular organic brand of Apple Cyder Vineagar.  If you are interested in all natural beauty treatments you should definitely read this article, it is very interesting and entertaining.  Sarah Lynch of the New Zealand Herald interviewed the founder's daughter Patricia Bragg and she is hilarious.  Her and her father were both natural health coaches to many stars, which include Clint Eastwood, Madonna, Tom Selleck, Dr Scholl and Conrad Hilton (of the Hilton Empire) and many more.  You should read the interview at the location below, it is entertaining and will make you laugh.  They also have a ready made ACV drink with honey, I haven't tried it yet but hope to.

Star Beauty Power

Star Beauty Power Revealed:

We all think that because celebrities look perfect in the magazine photo shoots or on TV, they are perfect naturally.  This is what causes most women and young girls to feel bad about themselves, so I appreciate and respect the following stars for owning up to and admitting that is just not the truth.  Each one of them spend a great deal of money on themselves to look the way they do, and they use many different products and procedures.  We as women should try and give ourselves a break, because no one is perfect and with enough money there is usually something out there that will help cover up or minimize any flaw we might have.  But we all have flaws, that is life!

Zooey Deschanel shared some of her favorite beauty products with Allure magazine.

Invasion of the Redheads!

There is no invasion of the Redheads, at least not natural redheads.  Any natural redhead if given the chance would ask any person not born a redhead (or a not natural redhead), what in the world would cause you to choose to dye your hair red?

Well, they didn't have to grow up with red hair, they didn't get called all the nick names, they didn't have to walk around as a child like a neon sign glowing (either the hair, or the pale skin), they didn't have to go through puberty different from all their friends when different was not good, etc.........

Healthy Skin – Home Remedies & Store Bought Remedies

Common Remedies

Below are some of the most common ways to protect your skin from damage and age, along with some less common ways.  Why not give them a try, it is never too late no matter your age.
1. Avoid sun exposure. A multitude of skin woes are caused directly by the sun, and can make skin appear uneven and prematurely aged. If you do plan to enjoy the outdoors, wear a high-SPF sun block, protective clothing, and try to avoid direct exposure between 10am and 2pm, when the sun's rays are strongest.
2. Quit smoking. Smoking compromises circulation, and as the body's largest organ, the skin needs all the oxygen-rich blood it can get. Consult your Doctor for information about how to quit.
3. Take care of your body. Getting plenty of sleep, good nutrition, and reducing stress are important to your overall health, and your skin will benefit, too. Try incorporating yoga to relieve stress, or a power-nap to energize your afternoon.
4. Know your skin. Understanding your unique skin type is important to finding the right products and meeting your skin's needs. Not sure if you're dry, oily, or combination? Ask a skin care professional.
5. Cleanse regularly. Most people should wash their face and moisturize twice daily to maintain clean, balanced skin. Be sure to choose a gentle cleanser and moisturizer appropriate for your skin type and save the soap for below the neck, otherwise you'll get too dried out.
6. Hands off your face. As tempting as it may be to pick and pop your way to clear skin, this method doesn't work. Unless you want scars and infections, apply quality products to acne and other blemishes, and let them do the work for you.
7. Treat your skin. Consider adding regular facials, masks, or massages to your skin care routine. You'll reduce stress and improve your skin's condition at the same time.
8. Keep cosmetics clean. Be sure to throw out old makeup after six to eight months, and consider investing in a antibacterial spritzer to keep makeup brushes fresh.
9. Shave carefully. Both men and women should be sure to use a balanced shaving cream or gel, and a clean, sharp razor, every time they shave. Shaving in the direction of hair growth is the best way to avoid skin irritation.
10. Practice comprehensive skin care. Make sure to cleanse, moisturize, and care for the skin on your knees, hands, and elbows. Regularly examining your body for unusual pigmentation or moles is important to your skin's health. Having beautiful, healthy skin doesn't have to be hard. Trip to Ulta - Product Reviews

I went to Ulta today and bought several new products for hair, skin and some makeup items.  I am going to list some of them and document how I use them and how they work, that way if any of you are thinking of purchasing them you will have some knowledge of the product prior to handing over the cash.
To start out, I have been getting a very few blonde highlights put in my hair over the past year to help the sandy tan (grey hairs, that look sandy color on redheads) blend in.  The past 2 times I also had my hair dude add low lights of deep red, my hair was beginning to get too light and blonde.  This is taking a toll on my hair and beginning to dry it out, so I am trying some deep conditioner and everyday conditioner for color treated hair to try and put some hydration back in my hair.

  1. Exuviance – Performance Peel AP25 ($72.00) This is a facial peel, it includes 2 steps of pads with product already distributed.  You wash your face with any cleanser then you apply step 1 pad and leave on for 10 minutes.  After 10 minutes you apply step 2 pad and let dry then rinse with water.  You can do this twice a week for a 6 week period per box.  I have already done this and will have Mike take a pic to add to this post, so we can see if it works and how well
  2.  Pureology Essential Repair Restorative Hair Masque ($50.00) – This is a thick white cream deep conditioner that can be used either daily by applying and rinsing after 2-5 minutes, or can be used as a leave in deep conditioner.  Sleep all night with it in your hair, wash and style in the morning.  This particular one is for color treated hair that has been left dry and brittle, needing hydrating.  Emliy Blunt swears by this stuff, and says it is the best stuff when hair color had caused dryness and damage.  I have washed my hair, and then put a heavy dose of the cream in my hair and left it.  I have it pulled up in a clip with a headband keeping my bangs pulled back, and I am going to rinse it out later tonight then blow dry my hair to see how it does.
  3. Benefit Beyond Mascara – ($22.00) – Mascara that is says 94% of those tested saw dramatic length and volume, 90% saw base to tip curl, 94% saw visible lift and 100% saw long wearing results.  Wow, I love this mascara.  2 Quick coats, and my lashes have never looked this full or this long.  A product that actually holds up to all they hype.
  4. Benefit Watt’s Up! ($30.00) – This is a sheer champagne highlighter that smoothes on a sweet glow that’s gorgeous.  With a cream to powder finish.  I will try this tomorrow and give an update.  Soft focus highlighter for face.
  5. Ulta Red Glaze ($9.99) – This is to be used after washing your hair, left in for 2-5 minutes then rinsed and styled as usual.  This is supposed to bring out and illuminate the red tones in your hair.  I will try this Monday morning and then give an update on this product.

April Birthday – Almost Here!

My birthday is April 6th, Mike’s is April 21st and my son Boe’s is April 12th.  This makes us all Aries and it makes for a difficult time trying to find things to get everyone for our birthdays.  Mike and I don’t really need anything  when we want something we just go get it, my son on the other hand will be 22 and still in college.  He thinks he wants and needs anything you want to get him, he has never been a needy child and is happy with anything he gets…..which makes it even that much harder.

So anyone with any ideas, please share.

Oh yeah, and tomorrow is St Patrick’s Day and I hear the blood of the Irish in my veins calling to me as we speak.  We need to go somewhere and drink some green beer (ICK!  I am not much of a beer drinker anyways, I go for the much harder stuff) and do some silly Irish things like sing and say fuckin’ this and fuckin’ that…

So in theme with St Patty’s day tomorrow, here are some outfits to wear to any occasion tomorrow (in green).

Jennifer Aniston - Gorgeous

Jennifer Aniston on the cover of InStyle -

During the interview Jennifer Aniston was asked the following question:

"If you could save just four items of clothing from your closet, what would they be?"

Jennifer responded - "Boots, a great blazer, a Scarf and Jeans.

Doesn't that just sound like something she would say?  She has the laid back easy style, in looks, fashion and personality.  She just seems like she would be someone you could be best friends with, and would invite you into her closet if you even mentioned you didn't have a thing to wear  I could see myself going to the Mexican food restaurant for Margarita Happy Hour, and laughing and telling silly know girlie things.

Gorgeous Redheads

There once was a girl
with a Strawberry curl
Right in the middle of her forehead
And when she was good
she was very, very good
but when she was bad she was horrid
Gorgeous Redheads

Red hair occurs on approximately 1–2% of the human population.  It occurs more frequently (2–6%) in people of northern or western European ancestry,

Cultural reactions have varied from ridicule to admiration; many common stereotypes exist regarding redheads and they are often portrayed as fiery-tempered.

Blondes are noticed but redheads are never forgotten.– Unknown
So, keep the quote above in red in your mind while I tell you this funny story.  My boyfriend and I work in the same industry and my company was having a big conference with 200-300 vendors attending at our office. A few weeks prior to the conference one of these vendors contacted my boyfriend to see if he could take him to lunch while in town for this conference.  While they were talking this vendor, said well this conference should be interesting but I can't wait to see this hot chick that works for this company.  He said my name and said she is a really hot redhead, have you ever seen her or met her?  My boyfriend started laughing and said, as a matter of fact I do know her.  When he told this guy we live together, I bet he almost crapped his pants.......lmao.

It's not the hair that turns men on, it's the spirit that redheads exude. – Unknown
